Terry and Claudia Boorman live in Victoria BC Canada, but their families haven't always lived there.  Both have deep roots in Canada (primarily PEI, Ontario, Alberta and BC), with their earlier ancestors immigrating mainly from England and the USA. Heritage also includes some Irish and German.

Having researched their family histories for many years with the help of other family researchers, they want to share some of their findings, stories and photos with you on this website and blog.

William Irvine BOORMAN's family can be traced back many generations to Kent, England.  Bill's father Harry Boorman arrived in BC Canada from Wandsworth London England about 1895, married Daisy JOHNSTON in Vancouver in 1910, and started a real estate and investment company in Victoria BC.

Lillian Joyce THOMAS was born in Kelowna, BC, the youngest daughter of two orphans who met and married in Shanghai, China. Her father Ivor Thomas was born in Cardiff Wales (a very common surname), and her mother Lily YEOMENS was born somewhere in England. Her Yeomen last name (with a variety of spellings) came from her adoptive parents in Shanghai.  DNA is helping identify her natural family - Robinson.

HENSON - Father's Side

Claude Henson
Claude Angus HENSON was born in Alberta and died in BC in a logging accident when Claudia was a toddler.  Claude's parents Angus Henson (born Arkansas USA) and Bessie HUNT (born Missouri) homesteaded in Alberta about 1914 after emigrating from Oklahoma USA.

Claudia  has done very little research on her adoptive TAYLOR surname.

Mabel Marion ANDREW was born in PEI Canada where her COMPTON grandmothers can trace their roots there back to 1803, and before that to Hampshire and Wiltshire England.  Her Andrew line came from Cornwall England.  Her RICHARDSON mother's family came from Norfolk and before that Sussex England.
